There are some requirements to become a game tester like good memory, have a big knowledge about video games and of course be really good at playing games, usually they hire the top players of the most popular games: like call of duty , guitar hero, etc.
There is an alternative to make money playing games there is a website to make bets called brignit.com you can just placed your bet and if you win you earn the money that the other player bet.
Some people think that these kind of jobs dont exist but its true playstation just made a reality show to hire their next game tester the name of the show is The Tester and you can find the show in youtube or if you have a ps3 just go to the store and download the show.
Most of this jobs require to be 21 and to have completed high school and I think those are the major requirements so if you are really good in a video game give this job a shot, you can make alot of money.
i agree. honestly a job is a job. whether you work at mc donalds or your a dentist at least you working hard for the things you need and the things you want. theres nothing wrong with being a game tester. If we didnt have any of those in the world then almost all games would suck so it just makes sense to have people working testing games. a game tester makes good money and thats all that really matters.

ReplyDeleteYes. Anything that requires having more knowledge on a subject than the average person and the operation is beneficial for a real cause, should be considered a job. People always look up reviews for games before they get them (they should at least) and that is part of what a game tester does; test the performance of a game. Nobody wants to buy a defected game that they don't know is defected, find out it's defected, and then whine about it. A game tester saves all that wasted time and hassle. It's imperative for there to be video game testers considering all the video games that are out there. It'd be pretty inconvenient for consumers to just be autonomous consumers in the sense that it's up to themselves to figure out if a game is good or not AFTER they buy the game. I've seen way more whackier jobs before and I think this definitely qualifies as a legitimate job.
ReplyDeleteIt is a job, but I don't see it as a career. The money does look good, but I'm sure companies can find random people on the street to test games for free. Work a few hours a day playing a game, and then what? I see game testing a part time job but not something to make a career out of.
ReplyDeleteTo me a video gamer tester is a job mostly because it takes such skill and requirement to actually become one just like any other job. You might not go to college or major in anything to actually be one but if its what your good at and you work hard to get there and want to be one. Then hey go for it!
ReplyDeleteOut in the world "Game Testing" is a job for some, but I cant imagine my self playing games days on end.It may sound fun playing games that you enjoy, however playing something that you cant stand might make me go nuts.I personally take games as entertainment, never to make a quick buck or two.Which is why "Game Testing" is not a job/career in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI think game testing would be a pretty cool job. And this might sound weird but some people are good at art, math, writing, or whatever....and then some people might be good at playing video games. It is also good for the people who do actually play the video games because then you don't get pissed off if there is seriously something wrong with the game. If you like playing games and can make money....I think that is pretty awesome :]

The rise in the amount of game testers that are needed is directly tied to the recent growth in the gaming industry. Not only are new systems and games being developed in the United States, but the gaming market is flourishing in countries all around the world as well.
The gaming business has to be one of the biggest parts of entertainment on the up rise in modern time. Gamers should make sure they are getting there moneys worth. Especially in today's economy. SO game testing should be cosidered a real job.
ReplyDeleteYea, some people think that it may not be considered a "job" to be a game tester, or any of the other "small" jobs out on the market, but in reality anything that someone is will to pay money for is a "job". Game testing is considered such a good job now because it is slowly making its way up the food chain. Game testing is actually very important to these companies for the fact that if they put out a bad game they are going to lose revenue on that game and future games to come. This makes it worth the extra bucks spent on game testers just to make sure their game is up to standards with other games on the market.
