What's Your Take On KiD CuDi ?

Well from my point of view, he is a pretty amazing artist. Just listening to his old mixtapes, and his studio released album Man On The Moon: The End of Day. Songs like Soundtrack To My Life, Day 'N' Nite, Up Up & Away, Man On The Moon, if you listen to the lyrics there is a story in them. KiD CuDi I think is a big change in music, his style is very different, but he still keeps the hip-hop flow with it. His father was a house painter, substitute teacher, and a World War II vet. The death of KiD CuDi's father was a major impact on his personality, and musical outlook. He started rapping at the end of high school, he was inspired by The Pharcyde, and A Tribe Called Quest. A lot of people think all he raps about is how crappy his life was, and how he has a habit of smoking weed, but there is more to that. He is explaining a story with each song, just take a listen and you won't be disppointed if you appreciate music for what it is.

  1. I think Kudi is an amazing artist. He makes songs that many people can relate too. I can relate to him so much the music is going in.

  2. I rarely like rap anymore, to be honest. However, Kid Cudi is definitely an acceptation. He has classic beats and great rhythm, as every rapper should. What people really fail to appreciate about him is his lyrical meanings. On the surface, it may seem like almost every one of Cudi's songs are about drugs but people fail to see he even sings about things such as depression and loneliness or live (Day N' Nights lyrics show this best). It seems like drugs are his scapegoats.

  3. Kid Cudi, isn't all about drugs, yet he does smoke weed, but where he is living its legal, so he can do what he wants. Kid Cudi lyrics are very meaningful, talking about his life, and past encounters. His upbringing, and it's always cool when an artist does that. Shows you a different side of him, and how he felt when he was young, and the decisions he made. Kid Cudi is great, period.
